Jay Colker

 

Jay Colker is Senior Consultant with The Kaleidoscope Group with over 35 years of experience developing people, teams, and organizations for optimal effectiveness and performance. Jay’s areas of responsibility include facilitating diversity and inclusion programs for clients in the US and abroad, consultation on diversity and inclusion assessments and on creating an inclusive workplace, and developing new value added services. Jay heads up The Kaleidoscope Group’s think tank, named KaleidoThought, which focuses on creative applications and new solutions related to diversity and inclusion.

Jay’s areas of expertise include coaching to leaders at all levels to enhance their effectiveness and outcomes,  facilitation and consultation in the human capital arena including diversity and inclusion awareness and skill building, organizational development, change management, team building, employee engagement, performance management, leadership and high potential development, and succession.

Previously, Jay was Chief Learning Officer for 11 years at ShoreBank, a 2.4 billion dollar community development finance corporation with 12 companies in the US and abroad; a full time management consultant for 7 years where he worked with Fortune 500 companies including Exelon, McDonalds, and smaller for-profit and not-for-profit organizations; a department head of a hospital for 7 years managing inpatient and outpatient services, a staff of 50, and an educational program; and a psychotherapist for 5 years in a full time private practice. Jay has consulted internationally in Mongolia, Republic of Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and India.

Jay holds a Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership, a Masters in Business Administration, and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. He combines a core understanding of leadership, business, and psychology in a manner that allows him to effectively work with people from all backgrounds and experiences and to facilitate change from a system’s perspective.  Jay has been an adjunct professor for seven years at the University of Phoenix where he teaches organizational leadership and organizational behavior and also at the Adler School of Professional Psychology where he teaches basic psychology and facilitation methods for parent training.

Jay resides in Chicago, Illinois with his wife. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, traveling, and spending as much time as possible in northern Wisconsin.
