Brent Walton

 

Brent Walton is a Market/Industry Analyst with 5 years’ experience. His responsibilities include industry research, web development, support to the business development, client leadership, and marketing teams.

In 2003 Brent started his own web design development company. He has over 10 years of experience as a freelance web designer and researcher. After working in East St. Louis as a project manager for the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana he moved to Chicago. In August 2009, Brent Co-Founded Youngmindz, a marketing consultant firm and subsidiary of The Kaleidoscope Group. He began as an associate of The Kaleidoscope Group during the summer of 2011.

Brent graduated from the University of Michigan in 2006 with a BA in Psychology. During his time there he was in Detroit twice a week mentoring members of a devastated community. This outreach work brought him to the Community Informatics program at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS) in Champaign-Urbana where he graduated in 2010.

In 2006 he was awarded for his work with the Inter-Group Relations program at the University of Michigan. He facilitated a Race & Ethnicity course for one semester his senior year. In 2008 & 2009 he was awarded the Community Informatics Corp Fellowship award while getting his MS in Information Science.

In his spare time, Brent enjoys playing video games, swimming, and staying healthy. He lives in downtown Chicago and loves animals but doesn’t own one.
