Andrew Givens

Andrew T. Givens is recognized as one of the top strategic marketing and partnership individuals in sports, entertainment and other industries. Givens is currently Vice President, Partnerships for The Kaleidoscope Group, a full-service Diversity and Inclusion firm. Givens is responsible for developing partnerships with alliances, partners associations and potential ventures.

Previously Givens served as National Partnership Specialist, Sports Collaborative with the Department of Commerce, United States Census Bureau under the President Obama administration. Givens developed partnerships with state, local, tribal government, community-based organizations, Faith-based groups, schools, media outlets, businesses, professional sports teams, leagues and other grassroots entities. Givens also created US Census awareness and motivation for participation in 2010 with traditionally hard-to-enumerate populations.  Andrew has also served as Vice President, Partnership Marketing for ESPN Mobile where he launched and marketed the ESPN cell phone which featured “real-time” programming. Givens, known as “the phone man” was responsible for partnerships developed with ESPN and NFL, MLB, NBA, MLS, NCAA as well as corporations such as Hilton, GMC, Nike, Visa, Coors, Cisco and others. Givens was Senior Director of Marketing for Scripps Networks (consisting of the Food Network, DIY, HGTV, Fine Living and Great American Country). Prior to Scripps Networks Givens was the Director of Multicultural Marketing for BET Movies, and was responsible for developing and managing the multicultural branding and marketing strategy for the Starz Entertainment Group. Givens also worked for Home Box Office and managed sales and marketing where he launched award winning series and films such as Sex In The City, Sopranos, OZ, Tuskegee Airmen, Soul Of The Game, The Dorothy Dandrich Story and others.

Prior to Givens focusing on marketing and sales he played professional football as tight end for the Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos. Givens has also been an entrepreneur as one of the founders of On the Ball (specializing in sports and entertainment management and marketing), 9711 CreativeWorks LLC (independent film production and marketing company) and GSM Givens Sports Marketing (sports and entertainment marketing company).

Givens has won several national awards including the Beacon Award, the NAACP Image Award, the NAMIC Excellence Award and the BET Award.  Givens has served on several boards including Soccer in the Streets, National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications, National Association of Black Journalist and Big Brothers and Big Sisters and recently as Chairman of the Board for the American Kidney Fund. Givens has five children, Andrew Jr., Mariah, Justin, Lindsay and Kobe as well as one granddaughter Desirae.
